People Skills Training For Line Managers & Supervisors

Leadership Coaching / Mentoring

All organisations must be fully committed to identifying and developing effective leaders. To help achieve this aim, individual coaching is available to all levels of managerial / supervisory staff who, are responsible for the management and development of others. This can include existing and experienced Managers / Supervisors, but just as importantly, newly promoted managerial / supervisory staff who are generally inexperienced. These people will benefit enormously from the one-one approache that individual coaching / mentoring can deliver. Coaching / mentoring programmes can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of the individual.

1. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Coaching is used as a means of developing new and existing behaviours to improve an individual’s effectiveness and contribution to the organisation
  • The individual will develop new knowledge and skills in the areas of personal effectiveness, communication, team-working and facilitation
  • Through coaching, the individual will be able to identify positive and negative behaviours and apply strategies to the management of each

2. CONTENT

  • A typical programme will begin with a consultation to discuss prevalent issues and agree personal outcomes
  • The programme will be developed to meet the specific needs of the individual and will include targets and key performance indicators
  • The style and duration of the coaching phase is dependent on the programme design. Typically lasting for 5 to 10 working days. This phase can include testing, training, coaching, mentoring and progress monitoring
  • Programme evaluation measures returns, records behavioural changes and improvements to individual and team performance
